The little black dress, simple nude pumps, dark denim - some styles are always on trend, no matter the season. Lets take a look at a few "newer" styles that are proving themselves to be more permanent.
1. The Classic Black Blazer
Whether you're throwing this blazer over a blouse for work, or dressing it up for a night on the town with a satin camisole, every lady needs this staple in her closet! As of recent, the "Boyfriend Fit" blazer, meaning oversized and longer, has taken the fashion world by storm.
2. Lightweight Layering Jacket
I love this mocha jacket specifically, but a lightweight jacket (that you can layer easily) is a perfect transitional piece. It is very easy to pair with a tee or printed tank on those mild spring days, or for chillier fall weather. The mocha color is very versatile for any season. A basic jacket is a great piece for any woman to have, and usually doesn't break the bank.
3. Solid Loafers
We've all been anxiously awaiting to see how long the loafer "trend" stays around. I personally love the coveted "granny shoe" and wish I would have snagged a few of my grandmother's a long time ago! The simple, yet still very chic, loafer is perfect to pair with trousers for a day at the office, yet fun and comfy to wear for a night out with "raw hem" denim! The gold bar across the top of the loafer shown really just adds to the look! Yet another great transition piece.
4. Light Hat
Who isn't obsessed with the hats on the market right now? A few years ago the only hats we saw in the industry were the traditional ball cap, or a straw "floppy" hat. THE GAME HAS CHANGED! The hats I've shown above are perfect to pair with a spring dress, or dark fall colors. The contrast in the actual hat itself and the ties (shown above) make it extremely easy to pair these two hats with any look. They give the perception that it was very well pieced together - even if it wasn't! ;) - My favorite, it also hides the world's worst hair day!
5.Staple Necklace
Regardless if you are a gold, rose gold, or silver girl - I'm sure we can all agree that the greatest outfit trick is throwing a necklace over a top or dress and INSTANTLY feeling like you've completed your look. It seems as though we've all found that long necklaces, with a bit of detail (but not too much), seem to never go out of style. The look I've shown above showcases a modern trend - pairing different shapes + adding tassels. Long necklaces have been around forever, and although the styles may change a bit in design, the concept isn't going anywhere anytime soon.
Thank you for taking the time to read my idea of 5 timeless pieces in the fashion world right now. I'd love to hear your thoughts and see what styles you are loving!
Until next time!
